Renowned Nigerian music legend, Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, has officially affirmed his romantic relationship with Natasha Osawaru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly. His revelation follows heightened speculation regarding their rumored involvement, especially amid his marital separation from his wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
Social media had been abuzz with conjectures after 2Baba made an unexpected appearance at the Edo State House of Assembly during plenary on Monday. While some questioned his presence, others took it as an unspoken confirmation of his closeness to the lawmaker.
Breaking his silence, 2Baba addressed the swirling rumors in a video posted on his Instagram handle early Wednesday morning, where he unreservedly admitted his feelings for Osawaru.
“Yes, I love her. I want to marry her. I said what I said. Everybody will be fine.”
He further expressed concern over the backlash Osawaru has faced, emphasizing that she should not be vilified over his personal affairs.
“Honourable Natasha has been unjustly dragged, labeled, and ridiculed. She is being called names and portrayed as a homewrecker. But she is simply a young, intelligent, and incredible woman.”
Addressing the ongoing discord in his marriage, 2Baba firmly dismissed claims that Osawaru played any role in his separation from Annie.
“She has absolutely nothing to do with the issues between Annie and me. But people keep trying to force her into the conversation. Yes, I love her. She is special, she is wonderful, and I genuinely want to build a future with her.”
In January, the “African Queen” crooner stunned fans when he announced that he and Annie had been living apart for some time and had initiated divorce proceedings.
“Greetings to my beloved people everywhere. This will be brief yet significant. Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now, and we have officially filed for divorce.”
He assured his fans that he would soon release a formal statement to clarify the situation, not because he owes anyone an explanation but because he values the love and support of his fans.
“I will share my truth in due time—not because I owe anyone an account of my personal life but because I respect my people. They deserve to hear my side. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”
As the saga unfolds, the iconic singer remains unwavering in his commitment to his newfound love, while fans eagerly anticipate further developments.
