The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, unequivocally asserted that nobody is immune from investigation by the commission in Nigeria. This declaration was made during a high-level meeting initiated by the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Aliyu, held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Mr. Olukoyede emphasized that the political will exhibited by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the fight against corruption provides a significant impetus for anti-corruption agencies to intensify their efforts. He praised the President’s commitment to doing the right thing, citing recent events as evidence of this determination.

The EFCC chairman expressed confidence that President Tinubu’s support would empower anti-corruption agencies to perform effectively, ensuring there is no refuge for those who violate the rules. He asserted that no individual is too influential or prominent to evade investigation in Nigeria, emphasizing that anyone deviating from established rules would face scrutiny.

This statement reinforces the commitment of the EFCC to upholding the rule of law and investigating allegations of corruption, regardless of the individual’s status or prominence. The agency, under the leadership of Ola Olukoyede, seems poised to pursue its mandate with vigor and impartiality.
