In response to the alarming incident reported in one of the nation daily on January 4, 2024, involving the detention of a lawyer seeking bail for a client, significant actions have been taken by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade. Following a thorough investigation into the allegations against the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gown Estate Division, CP Fayoade has ordered the immediate removal of the DPO, pending further review by supervisory authorities.
Expressing commitment to addressing the issue and preventing its recurrence, CP Fayoade has directed the Officer in Charge (OC) Legal of the Command to engage with the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos State Branch.
