Up north, tragedy struck as Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly assault on a police station in Garijam, Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State. Four police officers paid the ultimate price during the attack, losing their lives in the line of duty.
The insurgents infiltrated the community under the cover of darkness, orchestrating the assault at nearly midnight. Exploiting the vulnerability of the officers on duty who were asleep, the terrorists set the police station ablaze, leaving a trail of destruction approximately 82 kilometers away from the capital city, Maiduguri.
This recent act of violence adds to the growing list of security incidents that have resurfaced in the North East state of Borno. The loss of these officers is a stark reminder of the persistent challenges faced by security forces combating insurgency in the region.
