Senator Abba Moro Advocates for Peace Within Benue State PDP

The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, has issued a strong appeal for peace within the Benue State People’s Democratic Party (PDP). This comes in response to internal tensions following the formation of a parallel state working committee by dissatisfied members after the election of Ezekiel Adaji as state chairman. Moro, representing the Benue South Senatorial District, emphasized the need for reconciliation and unity to keep the party strong and cohesive.

Moro’s appeal came during a visit by Regina Lawani, Deputy Zonal Woman Leader, and three other zonal caucus members, who pledged their loyalty to Adaji’s leadership. Lawani voiced her displeasure over the unauthorized inclusion of her name in the parallel committee list. She clarified that her election was legitimate, having been conducted under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The senator stressed that unresolved internal disputes could jeopardize the PDP’s chances in future elections. As Senate Minority Leader, Moro holds considerable influence, and his leadership could be key in resolving the rift within the party. His timely intervention aims to ease the concerns of party members worried about further divisions caused by the parallel committee’s formation.

The Benue State PDP has been dealing with increasing friction for several months. Local government elections, which Moro denounced as a “rape of democracy,” have further fueled the divisions. The formation of the splinter committee has only complicated matters, intensifying internal struggles within the party.

Despite these growing challenges, Moro remains hopeful that the PDP can restore unity. He urged dissatisfied members to address their grievances through the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms, instead of seeking external solutions that could fracture the party further.

Lawani’s public support of Adaji’s leadership is seen as a positive step towards mending the internal discord. Other party stakeholders have also called for calm and unity, asking all members to prioritize the party’s long-term success. The national leadership of the PDP is aware of the situation in Benue, and the party’s national chairman has assured that the matter will be dealt with swiftly and fairly.

Senator Abba Moro has consistently reaffirmed his commitment to the foundational principles of the PDP. He emphasized that the true strength of the party lies in its unity and collective purpose. His leadership during these turbulent times provides a hopeful path forward for the PDP in Benue State.

As the party continues to navigate internal conflicts, Moro’s appeal for peace and reconciliation stands as a beacon of hope. His unwavering dedication to the unity and progress of the PDP remains central to his leadership. Under Moro’s guidance, there is renewed confidence that the PDP in Benue State can overcome its current challenges and emerge more united and stronger than ever before.

As the PDP works through these internal struggles, Senator Moro’s focus on reconciliation and unity will be instrumental in leading the party toward a brighter future. His leadership represents a critical step in ensuring that the PDP remains a strong political force in Benue State and beyond.
