Tottenham Eases Relegation Fears with Crucial Win Over Brentford

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Tottenham secured a much-needed 2-0 victory over Brentford, alleviating pressure on embattled manager Ange Postecoglou and steering clear of the relegation dogfight.

Despite their injury-hit squad, Spurs stood firm defensively while capitalizing on Brentford’s misfortunes. The home side fell behind when Vitaly Janelt inadvertently headed Heung-Min Son’s corner into his own net on the half-hour mark.

Brentford’s push for an equalizer saw Yoane Wissa strike the crossbar, but their wastefulness proved costly. Spurs doubled their advantage on the counter-attack, with Pape Sarr slotting the ball between Hákon Valdimarsson’s legs after
an incisive pass from Son.

The result lifts Tottenham to 14th place, establishing a 10-point cushion above the relegation zone and providing some much-needed breathing room.

With Arsenal dismantling Manchester City, United suffering another home humiliation, and Tottenham clawing their way out of danger, the Premier League landscape continues to shift. As the season intensifies, every match carries
weight, and the battle for supremacy—and survival—remains fiercely contested.
