BENUE INFRASTRUCTURE

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has taken steps to mend fences with the State Working Committee of the All-Progressives Congress (APC). This reconciliation effort follows the governor’s visit to the party secretariat, where the APC Chairman, Austin Agada, passed a vote of confidence in the governor and nullified all suspension notices previously issued. The move signifies a potential restoration of harmony within the APC in Benue State, emphasizing the importance of unity for the party’s success.

Following the reconciliation, the State Executive Council, in its weekly meeting, approved significant infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing transportation and connectivity in the state. The council sanctioned the construction of two flyover bridges at the popular Wurukum Food Basket Roundabout and High-Level Roundabouts, addressing key traffic areas in the state capital.

In addition to urban development projects in Makurdi, the capital city, the council approved the construction of three rural roads in Otukpo, Gboko, and Katsina Ala Local Government Areas. This move reflects the government’s commitment to comprehensive infrastructural development, aiming to improve accessibility and connectivity in both urban and rural areas.

Terseo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Alia, highlighted the significance of the approved projects, underlining the council’s focus on existing and new roads. The construction of sixteen new township roads in Makurdi and three rural roads demonstrates a comprehensive approach to road infrastructure development in Benue State.

Following the State Executive Council meeting, Governor Hyacinth Alia briefed journalists on the approved projects. The governor’s commitment to mending fences within the APC and simultaneously advancing crucial infrastructure initiatives stresses the  nature of governance and the importance of fostering collaboration for the overall development of the state.

With these approved projects, including flyover bridges and road construction, motorists in Benue State can anticipate an enhanced and more efficient experience while navigating the internal road networks. The initiatives reflect the government’s dedication to addressing both political and developmental challenges, creating a positive impact on the lives of the people in the state.
