The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has issued a decisive directive to Nigerian troops, urging them to intensify efforts and relentlessly target criminal enclaves. Speaking with resolute conviction, the CDS emphasized the necessity of eradicating insurgency with renewed energy and unwavering determination as the nation embarks on 2025.
General Musa further expressed the military’s commitment to leveraging the expertise of lawful local manufacturers engaged in crafting firearms and military-grade equipment. While underscoring the importance of collaborating with skilled citizens, he also reaffirmed the resolve to dismantle the production and circulation of illicit arms that pose a threat to national security.
During an operational tour of frontline troops stationed under Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State, General Musa inspected a significant cache of confiscated locally fabricated weapons and ammunition. The display underscored the critical need to integrate legitimate arms manufacturers into the defense framework while neutralizing illegal production networks.
The CDS’s tour commenced with a visit to the headquarters of 3 Division of the Nigerian Army at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by the General Officer Commanding, where he conducted a ceremonial inspection of the quarter guard. This visit marked a pivotal engagement in assessing operational readiness and addressing challenges faced by troops.
As part of his ongoing efforts, General Musa reiterated his vision to align national defense strategies with innovation and collaboration, ensuring that the fight against insurgency is not only resolute but also fortified with locally sourced ingenuity.
