The Federal Government of Nigeria has proclaimed the designation of Friday, March 29th, and Monday, April 1st, as public holidays in observance of the 2024 Easter celebration.
Mrs. Aishetu Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, issued a statement confirming the proclamation made by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In his announcement, Minister Tunji-Ojo called upon Christian adherents and all Nigerians to contemplate the sacrifice and benevolence exemplified by Jesus Christ, who perished to redeem mankind.
Furthermore, the Minister encouraged Nigerians to manifest acts of benevolence and magnanimity, underscoring the significance of ameliorating the material circumstances of underprivileged individuals within society.
The public holidays provide an occasion for citizens to convene with kin and companions, partake in religious ceremonies, and engage in philanthropic endeavors, fostering camaraderie and benevolence among communities during the Easter season.
