The official proclamation of this commitment unfolded during the Inauguration ceremony of the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council, an illustrious assembly geared towards steering the state towards unprecedented economic heights. The event unfolded at the Government House in Umuahia, where Gov Otti articulated his unwavering determination to collaborate with the Council and local stakeholders in showcasing the state’s inherent opportunities to the global investment community.
The grand inauguration took place in the banquet hall of the Government House, attracting a distinguished crowd comprising members of the newly-formed Abia Global Economic Advisory Council. At the helm of this formidable council is the former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Arunma Oteh, alongside co-chairpersons such as the former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, astute businessman Bolaji Balogun, and select senior members of the governor’s cabinet. The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and 18 other eminent personalities were also inducted as council members, underlining the significance of the occasion initiated by Governor Alex Otti.
