ARMED GANGS AMBUSH TROOPS IN ZAMFARA STATE

Armed bandits perpetrated a deadly ambush on joint troops of the Nigerian Army and Police in the Danjibga axis of Tsafe Local Government Area in Zamfara State on Saturday. According to an anonymous source in the area, the joint task force was responding to a distress call in Danjibga town when they fell into the trap set by the terrorists. Tragically, two soldiers and two personnel from the Nigerian Police lost their lives during the ambush, highlighting the dangerous and challenging security situation faced by the security forces operating in Zamfara State.

The source revealed that the terrorists were well-prepared, waiting for the joint task force to fall into the ambush before opening fire. Despite the onslaught, the troops displayed gallantry in their attempt to repel the attack. The bandits, however, overwhelmed the security forces with their large numbers. Another source, confirming the incident to Channels Television, reiterated the fierce resistance put up by the troops but acknowledged the significant numbers of terrorists involved in the ambush. The clash resulted in casualties on both sides, with several bandits reported to have been killed during the intense gun battle.

The ambush underscores the persistent threat posed by armed bandits in Zamfara State and the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in their efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.
