In response to allegations deemed injurious to his reputation, National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu has formally demanded a public retraction and an unequivocal apology from Naja’atu Muhammad, leader of Northern Star, over contentious remarks she purportedly made in a TikTok video.

The demand, articulated in a letter authored by Ribadu’s legal representative, Ahmed Raji (SAN), insists that Muhammad retract her claims, which allegedly accuse the NSA of once denouncing the credibility of President Bola Tinubu, then-Minister of Special Duties Senator George Akume, and Senator Orji Kalu, who represents Abia North in the National Assembly.

Muhammad, in the widely circulated video, purportedly asserted that Ribadu had made these allegations while serving as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at a time when Tinubu, Akume, and Kalu were holding gubernatorial positions.

Dismissing these assertions, Raji declared that the NSA had “never harbored such a stance” against the aforementioned political figures. He further stated that Muhammad’s comments had inflicted irreparable reputational harm upon Ribadu, challenging her to produce verifiable evidence substantiating her claims.

The letter issued a stern ultimatum, demanding that Muhammad issue a categorical retraction and extend an unreserved public apology in no fewer than five national daily newspapers within seven days of receiving the notice.

Failure to comply, the letter warns, would compel Ribadu to pursue legal recourse, wherein “exemplary damages” would be sought against her through judicial proceedings.
