In an unexpected turn of events within the political landscape of Rivers State, former Governor Peter Odili has given his endorsement to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, proclaiming him as the political vanguard of the state and lauding his dedication to representing the interests of the populace.
Odili, who governed from 1999 to 2007, affirmed that Governor Fubara, having secured his position through both the electoral process and the courts, now serves as the political steward of Rivers State.

in Ndoni, his hometown within the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, Odili underscored the crucial role of Rivers State within the national context. He cautioned that if the state were to falter, it would reverberate across the entire nation. He called upon Governor Fubara to operate with this knowledge at the forefront of his decision-making.
In reviewing Governor Fubara’s initial year in office, Odili applauded him for achieving noteworthy advancements across vital domains, particularly those that impact the public’s welfare.
Furthermore, Odili noted the congruence of Fubara’s administration with President Tinubu’s initiatives, particularly within the health sector, aligning with the recent introduction of the Primary Healthcare Fellows program by the Federal Government.
Odili urged Governor Fubara to continue harmonizing his efforts with the President’s objectives to attract increased federal attention and support to the state.
