President Bola Tinubu has initiated a special panel on social investment programmes following the suspension of four programs under the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) for a duration of six weeks.
The panel will be led by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun. Tasked with a comprehensive review and audit, the panel aims to re-engineer the financial architecture of the social investment programs, modifying procedures to enhance implementation moving forward.
The reform effort is expected to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach with the inclusion of ministers representing strategic sectors, as highlighted by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
