The initiative instigated by the government of Osun State to furnish complimentary medical and surgical assistance for pensioners within the state has been formally inaugurated.
At the State General Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo, the central venue for the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke accentuates that more than 23 thousand retired individuals in the state have already been reaping the benefits of cost-free medical amenities under the state health insurance regimen.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, accompanied by numerous distinguished government functionaries, officiates the commencement of cost-free surgical and medical aid for pensioners in Osun State.
The initiative is being executed through a partnership between the Osun Health Insurance Agency and the Rotary Club International.
In his discourse, Governor Adeleke underscores that this healthcare initiative forms an integral component of his administration’s pledge to fulfill electoral commitments made to the populace of the state.
Dr. Rasaq Akindele, the Executive Secretary of the Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA), divulges that since the commencement of the program on February 1, 2024, over 700 retirees have already taken advantage of the complimentary surgical and medical care.
The provision of complementary surgical and medical services for retirees is anticipated to notably ameliorate their health and welfare, thereby augmenting their overall productivity and quality of life.
The initiative also underscores the state government’s dedication to prioritizing the healthcare requisites of its elderly populace.
