The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the ongoing communal clash affecting the Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun communities. The violence, which recently resurfaced, has led to murder, arson, and the destruction of properties.

In an official statement, Osun State Police spokesperson, Adeoye Adeola, confirmed that the suspects would be charged in court for prosecution once investigations are completed.

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Umar Abba, has ordered the deployment of security personnel to the affected areas to restore peace, law, and order.

“The Osun State Command, in collaboration with other sister security agencies, will do everything possible to prevent further bloodshed and the breakdown of law and order,” Adeola stated.

The police also assured strict enforcement of the 24-hour curfew imposed by Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke to contain the crisis.

Adeola further disclosed that three suspects violated the curfew and were caught armed with a Dane gun.

“A thorough investigation will be conducted, and the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution accordingly,” the statement read.

The police also warned troublemakers and their sponsors that they would be tracked down and made to face the full weight of the law.
