Saudi Arabia is set to invest $5 billion in building a sustainable artificial intelligence (AI) data center in NEOM, the kingdom’s futuristic megacity.
The investment, led by DataVolt in partnership with NEOM, will fund the development of a 1.5-gigawatt AI data center, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The data center will be located in Oxagon, an industrial hub within NEOM.
Saudi Arabia plans to transform Oxagon into the world’s largest floating industrial complex.
NEOM’s Vision for the Future
NEOM, a $500 billion project unveiled by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to redefine urban living and industrial innovation.
Key NEOM Developments:
✅ The Line – A 170-km (105-mile) mirrored city designed to house millions.
✅ Sindalah Resort – NEOM’s first operational luxury destination on the Red Sea.
✅ Revised Population Targets – NEOM developers adjusted the 2030 projection from 1 million residents to 300,000, according to Bloomberg.
The NEOM project is a key part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s strategy to diversify its economy beyond oil and position itself as a leader in AI, technology, and innovation.
This investment in AI infrastructure highlights Saudi Arabia’s push to become a global tech powerhouse in the digital age. 🚀
