Despite the presence of security checkpoints, residents contend that Yorro Local Government Area is not the sole victim, asserting that the bandits have expanded their influence and are now allegedly saysing they are establishing there camps in Zing and Lau local councils.
The residents are calling for urgent intervention to end the escalating incidents of kidnappings and killings within the area. Mr. Daniel Zading, the former chairman of Lau Local Government Area in Taraba State says that every effort must be exerted to restore peace and security to the affected communities. The call for action reflects the profound impact of the insecurity crisis on the lives and well-being of the residents, urging both the federal and the state governments to take decisive measures protect them.
The Taraba State Police Commissioner, Joseph Eribo, cautions against resorting to self-defense, deeming it an invitation to anarchy. Mr. Eribo reminds the residences of the essence of upholding the rule of law and advocates for legal channels to address all the security challenges.
