President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Yobe State’s inaugural civilian governor, Senator Bukar Abba-Ibrahim, deeming it a substantial loss for both the state of Yobe and Nigeria as a whole.
Representing the President, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima conveyed this sentiment in Damaturu during his visit to commiserate with the government and populace of Yobe State following the demise of their pioneer civilian governor, Senator Bukar Abba-Ibrahim, who passed away in Saudi Arabia last Sunday.

The Vice President, accompanied by government dignitaries, arrived at the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport at 3:30 PM and was received by Governor Mai Mala Buni before proceeding to the Presidential Lodge in Damaturu to offer his condolences.
The Vice President lauded the late Bukar Abba-Ibrahim as a genuine democrat who dedicated himself tirelessly to the state’s advancement following its establishment in 1991.
In a related development, a five-member Senate delegation led by Senator Adamu Aleiro, representing Kebbi Central, also extended their condolences to the people and government of Yobe State.
Governor Mai Mala Buni expressed gratitude to the Vice President and the Senate delegation for standing in solidarity with the state during this somber period.
Prayers were offered for the departed soul and for the people of Yobe State in the wake of this significant loss.
